Oh so naughty, starting a blog and then not blogging; surely not an original crime.
Here's some drawings that have been manifesting over the last few months.
Firstly, a Wayang doll. My Mum has two hanging in her lounge, a lovely gift from my brother Dirk that he picked up when he was working in Indonesia. When I decided to draw this I didn't appreciate it's detail. I'm proud of my persistence, which is increasing with experience, and it paid off this time.
I was surprised to find the doll had an extra face, that's the great thing about drawing something; you have to really look at it and sometimes you see something new.
The next...well I'm not sure how old it is, probably before Christmas. I love this drawing so much I had it framed and it's hanging in my bedroom.

And the lucky last for tonight is...the first of my big dress series. This awakened the teenager in me. Last weekend my nephew said he remembered me drawing dresses when he was a child. I'm sure I've read many recommendations to do the things I liked when I was young. Here's to that!

Feather Dress

This is the drawing I did last drawing night based on a card that Jen suggested. Yay for drawing night, it means I get something done every week (*appreciation*).

First follower, I salute you!
Thank you for your encouragement, most excellent friend.

So it is an overcast Saturday, and I wait for my camera battery to charge so I can load up some photos of my recent work. Come on little LED, turn green!

I want this to be mainly about fashion images, something to keep me occupied before the fashion illustration course starts in July (oh so long..), but hey, I'm not a fan of rules.

I welcome suggestions for drawing ideas because sometimes there's just too much floating around in my head, it's nice to hone it down, so please feel free to suggest. Sam's game, the Samitomoto Drawing Game is also good when I'm stuck for ideas. Plus the topic is usually funny and it always helps to have a giggle at yourself and not take your art too seriously. Oh, perhaps those drawings would be good to show too?

Hurry up little green LED; surely that battery is charged by now?
